Add meta tags to your Blogger.com blog

In the default Blogger.com templates there are no easy way of adding meta keywords and meta deskription. This is the way to to it:

1. Enter Edit Html in by first clicking your Design-tab and find the row

<b:include data='blog' name='all-head-content'/>

2. Right after that line of code paste this code:

<meta content='DESCRIPTION' name='description'/>
<meta content='KEYWORDS' name='keywords'/>
<meta content='AUTHOR' name='author'/>

Replace  DESCRIPTION with your description, replace KEYWORDS with your keywords and replace AUTHOR with your name.


3. Save.


4. Done

I got indexed but have no inlinks

The blog is now almost a month old. Most ow the pages is indexed by Google.com and Yahoo.com. But I don't have many inlinks. This is the hardest part. The four ones I've got is from Icerocket.

The best would be to be added on the blogg list on a few well known blogs with many indxed pages. Since I have no friends this is tricky.

So if you have a great blog and want to help out I would be very happy if you put my link on your blog. If you do that and make a comment on this article I would write a short article about your blog with a link to any article you want. I don't write about porn, casino, gambling or any other offensive subjects though.

I will also include my blog in some link directories. You can search for "link directory" or "add url"  to find link directories. I will soon put a list to great link directories and "add urls" on this blog.

Customize meta tag line : SEO Tips for blogger.com bloggers

I found an easy and good way changing the meta tag line. That is the line you'll se in the SERPs, the Google search result list. Default you see the blog name followed by the blog post title. SEO-wise it is better (and for human eye as well) to show the blog post name first. The new blogger templates is not so easy to change as the old ones where.

This is how you change the order in the meta tag line.
1. Click the Edit HTML under the Design tab in your Blogger account.
2. Download the template.
3. Replace the code

<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>

with the following code

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "item"'>
<title><data:blog.pageName/> | <data:blog.title/></title>
<b:else/><title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>
</b:if>

 4. Save the template as a new file (just in case).
5. Upload your new template.
6. Done!

How to redirect your Blogger blog to a new domain

If you want to move your Blogger blog to a new domain name without losing visitors, pagerank and avoid Google to penalize you for duplicate content there are a few steps to go.

Requirements: A wordpress blog on your bew domain.

1. You need to export your posts from Blogger and import it in your new Wordpress blog.

Initially it may benefit your ranking, but its just matter of time before Search Engines detect it and your site is gone. So be aware of SEOs that suggest Link Farming.

Keyword Stuffing.In this technique webmasters try to hide keywords inside page. Like put lots of keywords in white color in white background. Users cant see these words but Search Engine Crawlers can. This is very bad.


Crawlers will crawl your site for some time with good response and then one morning you will wake up and see your site is banned.           

Hidden Links
There are fraud SEO companies that put hidden links on your site. These hidden links will point to the sites of your SEO or other clients which has nothing to do with your site. All your hard earned ranking will benefit other sites without your knowledge.
If this is not bad, when search engines detect these your site will be banned. Stay away from such SEO companies.

If you find above techniques used by your SEO adviser then its time for you to change.
